Cartier LOVE Unlimited

Directed and cast by Antoinette Boulat
Photographs by Jody Rogac
Styling by Xenia May Settel

Cartier invited System to interpret its LOVE Unlimited collection.

Love has been written and rewritten, sung, performed and depicted, projected onto screens and whispered in the dark. We remain endlessly curious about its language – because language, too, is where love lives.

We asked renowned French casting director Antoinette Boulat to bring together a group of young actors – Anyier Anei, Louiza Aura, Shaïn Boumedine, Valentin Campagne, Pablo Cobo, Hortense de Gromard, Gina Jimenez, Taddeo Kufus, Eloy Pohu, Mamadou Sidibé, Lily Taïeb, Abraham Wapler, Angelina Woreth and Nina Zem – to speak words of love in French.

From Racine to Marivaux, from Corneille to Éluard: words written between the 17th and 20th centuries, spoken by new voices and made present again. Boulat directed the actors for a short film; photographer Jody Rogac portrayed them, both alone and together.

Then we turned to cinema – these actors’ shared passion, and a world long close to Cartier.

We asked each of them to think of love on screen: a favourite film, a scene that stayed with them, a character they might have fallen for.

Their faces and answers fill the pages that follow. And their voices can be heard in the film above.

With love, unlimited,
System

What is your favourite romantic film?
They’re not the happiest, but I’d say Two Lovers (James Gray, 2008) and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry, 2004).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
I rewatched Titanic (James Cameron, 1997) not long ago and it hasn’t aged at all. Its love scene is iconic and proves you can convey a lot of emotion with subtlety and restraint.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Ethan Hawke’s character in the Before trilogy: he’s extremely free, he completely opens up about his love and doesn’t put his looks first. That makes him even more charming.

French-American actor Nina Zem is known for Netflix film Delicious (2025), directed by Nele Mueller-Stöfen, and HBO Max series Privilèges (2026), created by Marie Monge and Vladimir de Fontenay.

Pablo Cobo

What is your favourite romantic film?
Before Sunset by Richard Linklater (2004). Seeing people reunite years later always makes me feel good,
it gives me hope.

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The first one that comes to mind is the ending scene of La La Land (Damien Chazelle, 2016). When through their gaze you can sense they still love each other, perhaps they’ll even always love each other, but life has taken them elsewhere and they’ve come to accept it… I still haven’t gotten over it!

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Julie in The Worst Person in the World (Joachim Trier, 2021). This character overwhelms me – her wandering, the way she allows herself to keep changing studies, jobs, or men… Maybe that’s running away for some, but personally I see the courage of those who refuse to settle. Of course it’s all carried by a phenomenal actress, so how could I not adore her?

French actor and singer Pablo Cobo is known for his performances in Édouard Salier’s Tropic (2022) and Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s Madre (2019). He will next appear in Nicolas Cuche’s television series Promets-moi.

Valentin Campagne

What is your favourite romantic film?
Blue Is the Warmest Colour (Abdellatif Kechiche, 2013).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The love scene in cinema that moved me most is in Anatomy of a Fall (Justine Triet, 2023)! After the verdict, Swann Arlaud and Sandra Hüller find themselves in the restaurant with the family; the family leaves, the camera stays with Sandra and Swann, and there follows a wordless scene where everything is conveyed through their eyes. Tears well up. It’s so beautiful, I cried and cried and cried and cried.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Adèle in Blue Is the Warmest Colour, my God, yes.

French actor Valentin Campagne received an acting award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Lukas Dhont’s Coward.

Eloy Pohu

Eloy wears a LOVE Unlimited bracelet, diamonds, a LOVE Unlimited bracelet, and a LOVE Unlimited ring.

What is your favourite romantic film?
My favourite romantic film is Closer (Mike Nichols, 2004).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The love scene that moved me most is in The Notebook (Nick Cassavetes, 2004), when Ryan Gosling says in the rain that he wrote 365 letters.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
I could fall in love with Padmé in Star Wars.

French actor Eloy Pohu gained recognition for his performance in Robin Campillo’s Enzo (2025).
He will next appear in Guillaume Nicloux’s Article 353.

Gina Jimenez

What is your favourite romantic film?
The Lovers on the Bridge by Leos Carax (1991).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The opening scene of the animated film Up (Pete Docter and Bob Peterson, 2009). I saw this film when it came out and I was ten years old. It moved me; I’ve rewatched it since and it still moves me. To capture what love is in just a few minutes, in its most unique moments as well as its most everyday ones, the love that remains until death – that’s genius. And it’s only once you’ve witnessed his life journey that you understand the character’s hostility, and of course you become attached to him.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
There’s no film I’ve watched more than Titanic (James Cameron, 1997), despite its length. When I was little
I would play it on repeat for days; once the credits started, I’d rewind it to the beginning. Jack Dawson was my first cinematic love, and he’s come back at several points in my life – he’s captivating, I can’t help myself.

French actor Gina Jimenez has appeared in her father Cédric Jimenez’s 2025 film, Chien 51, and Gilles Lellouche’s L’Amour Ouf (2024). She will reunite with Cédric Jimenez for his upcoming film Johnny.

Mamadou Sidibé

What is your favourite romantic film?
In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar-wai (2000).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The farewell scene in Lost in Translation (Sofia Coppola, 2003). You feel empathy throughout the film for these two characters, who are very lonely and almost empty. They’re at two different stages in their lives, but they still manage to fulfil each other during this brief moment in Japan. Their bond is very deep, even if sometimes completely silent, but their mere presence is enough, and so the farewell is naturally heartbreaking.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Cataleya in Colombiana by Olivier Megaton (2011), because the strength of character and determination that Zoe Saldaña portrays in this film are truly admirable. Also, what she embodies reminds me of someone very dear to me.

French-Malian actor Mamadou Sidibé appeared in Canal+ series A Prophet (2025), created by Abdel Raouf Dafri and Nicolas Peufaillit. His upcoming projects include Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Soundain (2026) and Marie Rosselet-Ruiz’s L’une des leurs (2026).

What is your favourite romantic film?
Portrait of a Lady on Fire by Céline Sciamma (2019).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The kiss in the barley field in A Room with a View by James Ivory (1986). That scene is EVERYTHING. It’s perfect. It’s Maria Callas, the beautiful Tuscan hills at sunset, Helena Bonham Carter like a lost English rose in the middle of that barley field, as Julian Sands walks so assertively towards her. It’s a magical and romantic feeling that only cinema can give you. I don’t think you can really explain it, nor should you. All you know is that Miss Lucy Honeychurch just received a life-changing kiss, one that literally makes her reassess her life choices, and will never be the same.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Noah from The Notebook by Nick Cassavetes (2004). Not just because he’s romantic, but because of the commitment he had. He loves with a kind of certainty that’s rare, and there’s something very attractive about someone who knows what they want and isn’t afraid to be vulnerable. He’s passionate, a little stubborn, and deeply loyal. In real life I’d probably roll my eyes at some of his grand gestures, but I’d secretly love them!

South Sudanese actor Anyier Anei, born in Nairobi, is set to appear in Alice Winocour’s Couture (2026).

Hortense de Gromard

What is your favourite romantic film?
The Lovers on the Bridge (Leos Carax, 1991). A love story in Paris between two marginal, poetic beings. With very sensory, physical direction. It’s a love that’s free, wild, luminous, but destructive.

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
Alex’s run to ‘Modern Love’ in Bad Blood (Leos Carax, 1986). It might not be a love scene in the classic sense, but I find it says everything about the rush of love. Love overflowing. It’s joyful, dizzying. And it’s very beautiful, to express desire through movement and music.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Maybe Ashitaka in Princess Mononoke (Hayao Miyazaki, 1997). He’s a character who moves me because he embodies an idea of strength that comes with listening and empathy. He tries to understand others without judging. He has a humanity and a gentleness that I find appealing.

French actor and model Hortense de Gromard appears in László Nemes’ Moulin (2026), which competed at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

Shaïn Boumedine

What is your favourite romantic film?
Her (Spike Jonze, 2013), starring the incredible Joaquin Phoenix, a film that speaks as much about love as it does about loneliness.

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?

I remember a scene from Forrest Gump (Robert Zemeckis, 1994), where he talks to Jenny at her grave as if she were still alive. He talks about life, their child, and how much he misses her. Tom Hanks is obviously incredible in this film. He makes us love his character with such compassion that when this scene comes, it’s impossible to remain unmoved.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
A bit cliché, but I’d say a James Bond girl, or a secret agent like Ana de Armas in James Bond, or Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Doug Liman, 2005).

French actor Shaïn Boumedine was discovered by acclaimed director Abdellatif Kechiche, who cast him in Mektoub, My Love: Canto Due (2025).

Lily Taïeb

What is your favourite romantic film?
Three Times by Hou Hsiao-hsien (2005).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The ending of La La Land (Damien Chazelle, 2016), because I’ve experienced so many dreamt up romances and failed relationships. Sometimes the most beautiful stories are the ones that almost happened…

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Edward Scissorhands (Tim Burton, 1990) – I love people who are very pure and different.

French actor Lily Taïeb has appeared in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch (2021), Mia Hansen-Løve’s Bergman Island (2021) and Apple TV+ series Carême (2025). She will next star in Nikias Chryssos’ Bloody Tennis (2026).

What is your favourite romantic film?
The King and the Mockingbird by Paul Grimault (1980). I think it’s the first romantic film I saw. They barely speak to each other, but their silence is more eloquent than a grand declaration. I wondered whether they would love each other as much if the king weren’t so threatening. Does the king’s oppression not fuel a love that would otherwise be less intense?

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The slow-dance scene in Happy Together (Wong Kar-wai, 1997). I don’t know if it’s the faded blue image, the kitchen tiles, their bodies moving, but something happens that awakens all my senses, and I cry every time. It’s full of textures and unspoken things, like a poem.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
I tend to fall in love with everything that’s not good for me… so let’s say Tommy Shelby [from the TV series Peaky Blinders]. He’s not from a film, but oh well.
I could have easily fallen for him.

French actor Louiza Aura was selected for the Révélations – César 2025 for her performance in Alexis Langlois’ Les Reines du Drame (2024). She will next appear in Sarah Leonor’s D’ici là.

Taddeo Kufus

What is your favourite romantic film?
Solaris by Andrei Tarkovsky (1972). Is it a romantic film? I watched it on DVD one afternoon after school. The first time I saw it, I didn’t understand much. But I felt something strange, like a vast unknown opening up before me.

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The most recent image that comes to mind is in La Chimera by Alice Rohrwacher (2023). The final scene, the red thread descending into the cave where Arthur is. A ray of light cuts through the darkness. I was at the Cinema Troisi in Rome, I remember the room and its silence. I felt something very powerful, it took my breath away.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
I don’t feel like I often fall in love with characters, rather sometimes with certain images, or sounds. But I was deeply moved by Bulle Ogier in The Salamander by Alain Tanner (1971). A director I’m discovering, and a character I admire for her great freedom and for her mysterious way of drawing in the light.

French-German actor Taddeo Kufus is known internationally for his role in Sam Mendes’ 1917 (2019). He will next appear in Mio directed by Jonathan Berlin.

Angelina Woreth

What is your favourite romantic film?
Dirty Dancing (Emile Ardolino, 1987). I’ve seen it at least 100 times. First of all, for Patrick Swayze. Then for the dances, the costumes, and all the iconic lines like, ‘Nobody puts Baby in a corner.’ I’ve practised the lift in the water, and dreamed about Baby’s dance shoes many times.

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
I’m thinking of a joyful scene: the ukulele scene in Blue Valentine by Derek Cianfrance (2010) which captures the beginning of a love story so well, in contrast with the rest of the film which tells the story of the couple’s decline. That makes it a particularly touching scene.

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Jack Black in Be Kind Rewind by Michel Gondry (2008). For his natural charm, and his silliness. I love Michel Gondry’s world, especially this film with all the costumes and sets they build for themselves to rewind the tapes at the video store. It reminds me of my childhood with my sisters and our film projects made on a shoestring.

French actor Angelina Woreth emerged with her performance in Jimmy Laporal-Trésor’s Les Rascals (2022). She recently appeared in Joséphine Japy’s Qui brille au combat (2025).

What is your favourite romantic film?
Titanic (James Cameron, 1997).

What love scene in cinema moved you the most?
The scene in Punch-Drunk Love (Paul Thomas Anderson, 2002) where Adam Sandler and Emily Watson declare their love with crude, completely crazy words and images but with infinite tenderness. ‘I want to chew your face, and I want to scoop out your eyes and I want to eat them and chew them and suck on them.’

Which film character could you fall in love with?
Erin Brockovich, played by Julia Roberts. For me, nothing is sexier than this woman’s determination and courage.

French actor Abraham Wapler has appeared in Disney+ series Andor (2025), Cédric Klapisch’s La Venue de l’avenir (2025) and Les Saisons (2025). He will next appear in Carly Blackman’s The Runaway Kids.
